How To Get Hired By Your Dream Company

More than a third of employees admit that additional perks and benefits are amongst their top consideration before accepting a new job. But how do you even get hired by your perfect employer?
Track your company’s progress
If you have a few companies that you’d like to add to your CV, make a point of keeping them on your radar – and getting on theirs – even before you start the job application process.
Regularly check out their website for new products being launched. Set up a Google alert for articles written about them. Keep on top of what’s going on within the company too!
Bookmark their social media profiles
If you follow the company on social media, why not actually interact once in a while? There’s a chance they could recognise your name when it’s time to apply – especially when more than half of employers check applicants social media profiles during the recruitment process!
The majority of companies have a ‘careers’ section of their website set aside for posting job openings. Some even use recruitment websites to advertise their jobs. Sign up for email alerts and get notifications sent straight to your inbox!
Check out Twitter and LinkedIn – recruitment advertisers like Mediargh will tweet new jobs several times a day – or join a specific group on Linkedin to see people posting job adverts.
Research and learn
Researching companies in advance is a good way to learn about an organisation, especially when you’re faced with company related questions in an interview (thebalance.com). Being able to speak with genuine interest and enthusiasm will show a well-formed opinion, particularly when you’re asked questions like: “How do you think we could have improved on X?”
With a wide scope of knowledge about the company’s background, you’ll be able to impress your interviewer and show that you have been active in tracking their progress, even as an outsider. This bodes well for how you will perform within the organisation.
Keep your CV sparkling
Whether it be expenses-only work experience, internships or freelance shifts, contribute as much as you can to your dream company. Some day, they may be willing to pay you a salary for it!
For example, if you have always wanted to work for Bauer Media and write for GQ Magazine, send over somearticles you have written with the potential to be featured in the magazine. If your contributions are quality, your persistence will eventually pay off and get you noticed. Plus, adding new accomplishments to your cv will show growth, be it professional or personal.
You know that marathon you’ve been wanting to run for the last few years? Well, maybe now’s your time. Sure, running 26 miles won’t prove to your employer that you can successfully complete project x. But what it does show is determination and resilience.
