Determination – The Real Key To Success!

Ever been told your career dreams aren’t feasible? Many of us have, but why let those people stand in your way? Ignore the gatekeepers and go for it.
If you want to become a writer then write. In 1995, all 12 major publishers rejected Harry Potter. A year later Bloomsbury accepted J. K. Rowling’s work and now she’s a world famous author.
Walt Disney is another example of failure before success. Disney was fired from a Missouri newspaper for “not being creative enough.” His first company ended in bankruptcy, but he persevered and look where it got him!
The moral of these examples? Don’t give up.
Once you know what your dreams are, you need to work at it and work hard. No one gets where they want without blood, sweat and tears.
Learn from others in your industry. Your peers have experienced all the pitfalls before you, so learn from them.
Make connections. Whether this is via social media, networking through events, or courses – we all need to learn from others. Social media networking allows you to build up an awareness of your products or service. Career advancement is as much about who you know as what you know. As well as sharpening new skills you’ll come face to face with experts in your chosen field, and meet likeminded individuals, as well as having fun!
Courses, whether they be online or at a college, are fundamental to lifelong learning. As we all know the world changes, and with it businesses evolve. Whatever your chosen discipline, you need to be at the forefront of these changes, whether they be technological changes, or market pattern fluctuations. To succeed, you need to be aware and evolve together.
Whatever your dreams are, act on them and make a plan. Approximately 80% of people never set goals for themselves. Targets give your life direction, boosting your motivation and self-confidence. This could be one of the main blockers in your way. The top reason for not setting goals is the fear of failure and people not believing in themselves. To get to where you want to be you need to have faith in yourself and others will see your talents and ability.
Be committed to the cause, make a list, break your objectives down, plan your steps and celebrate small wins along the way. Remember the SMART rules:
Specific.
Measurable.
Attainable.
Relevant.
Time-bound.
Don’t ever give up. The path to attainment may not always be a smooth ride and sometimes it’s hard to keep your dream alive. Life is simply too short to not follow your dreams.
“Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today.”
