The best New Year’s Eve events in the UK for 2019

New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest nightlife events of the year. Even those who don’t typically partake in a night out may make an exception for New Year’s. While it’s one of the best night’s out of the year, it can also be a big disappointment. The best way to ensure a good night? Careful planning. Luckily, we’re here to help, with some of the best New Year’s Eve events all around the UK. From more traditional club events to something more offbeat or low-key, here is our edit.

 

London

 

Those who just want to rave the night away can’t really go wrong with Eskimo Dance at Croydon’s Boxpark. There’s a huge lineup of grim DJs including Wiley and BBC Three’s comedy outfit Kurupt FM. Tickets are sold out online, but check the Facebook event for updates!

Those who want something a little more unusual may enjoy the New Year’s Eve Silent Disco, at the Banking Hall in the City of London. Hosted by the pioneers of silent disco, Silent Sounds, there are three different DJ stations so you can sing and dance your heart out. Tickets are available here.

Another great choice is SW4 Presents, hosted at the O2 Academy in Brixton. Featuring live music from acts such as the So Solid Crew, Noisia and Dimension, it promises a range of bass, dubstep, house, techno and garage sounds. Tickets can be found here.

London

Scotland

 

If you’re based in Edinburgh, the Glitterati party at Brewhemia is a great shout. With live music in a range of genres, plus delicious food and plenty of drink options, it makes for a Hogmanay like no other. Check out tickets here.

Another popular New Year’s Eve event in Edinburgh is the Fantasia New Year’s Eve at Whynot nightclub. The event promises five fabulously decorated rooms, live performances, cheap drinks and a stunning outdoor area. There’s a great variety of music, too, including house, hip-hop, r ‘n’ b and clubbing classics. Find your tickets here.

For those closer to Glasgow, we highly recommend the Hogmanay Brazil Meets Cuba party at Boteco do Brasil. If you want the feel of a carnival without having to leave Scotland, this is the best option for you. Boogie the night away to samba, funk, electro, Latin and dancehall tunes. Wales

 

A top choice for your New Year’s Night in Cardiff is the Des Was A Bowie Fan party at the Big Top. Featuring indie, rock and roll and alternative tunes plus the bells of the nearby St. John the Baptist church at the strike of midnight, it’s sure to be a night to remember. Find tickets here.

Northern Ireland

 

One of the top New Year’s Eve events in Belfast is the New Year’s Eve At The Night Institute at the Art Department. It’s a slightly lower key event, but there are still ample dancing opportunities. Tickets are still available and can be found here.

 

North-West

 

Manchester’s Warehouse Project is a legendary night out, and with good reason. The WHP NYE at Store Street promises to be no exception. Fantastic featured DJs include MK, Danny Howard and Second City. It’s a great option for night owls, too, as it’s open until 5 am. Tickets are selling fast, but the few remaining ones are available here.

For those closer to Leeds, we highly recommend the Circus of the Lost NYE at the Beaver Works. The night promises live bands, a ton of excellent DJs, circus performers, plus an out of this world firework display. Get your tickets here.

Another top Leeds New Year’s Eve choice is the Canal Mills Party. For house music, this is one of the top choices, including big names like Disciples, Danny Howard, Understate and Rubik. Find tickets here.

If you’re in Sheffield, though, the Bassfest New Year’s Eve Party should be a great time. There are four arenas and over one hundred different musical performers playing drum and bass and R ‘n’ B tunes. Tickets are available here – it’s pricey, but definitely worth it for those who are in to their live music.

Not to be left out, Liverpool also has a great range of New Year’s Eve events. One of our favourite options is the Fiesta Bombarda at the Invisible Wind Factory. Featuring jungle, house, funk and reggae music, the night promises to be a visual spectacular. A collective group of popular Liverpool musicians join forces to perform new year bangers. Manchester

North East

 

Those in Newcastle should look out for The Whole Hogmanay, hosted in Wylam Brewery. Alongside the huge variety of beers, there are street food options, a gin palace and the promise of tons of excellent live music. Find your tickets here.

 

Midlands

 

Birmingham residents can enjoy the Weird and Wonderful New Year’s Eve hosted at The Mill. Featuring a great range of house, garage and drum & bass music with many top name DJs including High Contrast and Lowqui. Tickets are still available and can be found here.

Stoke-on-Trent also has an excellent New Year’s Eve option – the Bonanaza NYE Special hosted at the Royal Music Hall. Hosted by popular DJ Pawsa, plus tons of special guests, it’s sure to be a fantastic night, particularly for techno lovers. Tickets are selling fast, but can still be purchased here.

Ravers Reunited at the O2 Academy in Leicester also promises to be an extremely fun New Year’s Eve event. Featuring three different stages with different music styles, you’re sure to find something to dance to, including top MCs Whizzkid, Storm and Keyes. You can still get tickets here.

 

South

 

Those near Brighton can enjoy the notorious Wonka Wonderland New Year’s event at The Arch. Featuring big name DJs including Darius Syrossian, Ben Sterling plus special guests. The venue is super cool, featuring tons of secret spaces. Plus the event promises stunning visuals and light installations. It’s on until 8 am, too! You can still get tickets, available here.

Those in Bournemouth can enjoy the One Nation NYE at the O2 Academy. It features tons of different DJs, plus an acoustic room for those in need of a break from the dancing. Tickets can be purchased here.

Brighton

South West

 

Bristol offers a range of top nights out for New Year’s Eve. One of the top choices is In:motion, which takes place, as the name suggests, in Motion nightclub. Expect live house and garage music, with a ton of different DJs. Tickets can still be found here.
